Canadian actor wanting to employment in L.A?

Hello. I am a canadian actor doing some work here in canada. I was just wondering how I could get my name out to casting people in LA. I know that if they don't know you then your package right gets thrown out most of the time in LA, doesn't it? So should i try it anyway and have my agent send out my stuff to LA casting directors or should i just be prolonged auditioning here in Canada and see if I get any auditions for american projects???

Anything's always worth a try because at least there's a chance that you could get your name out there, whereas if you didn't try, you would have absolutely no chance in abyss. Try not to be afraid of rejection (but don't expect it either) because that will only hold you back in the end. Good luck to you.
